Silver Birch

Like ghostly figures in the woodlands and heaths, silver birches have smooth, shiny white bark and slender branches. Silver birches produce small inconspicuous flowers, catkins and tiny, winged seeds. They live for 60 to 80 years and are a pioneer species and symbol of renewal.

Silver birch leaves are deciduous, small, and triangular with serrated margins.
